HALL PRESENTS CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION AWARD.

ROCKWALL, Texas -- The following information was released by the office of Texas Rep. Ralph Hall:

Congressman Ralph M. Hall recently invited high school students throughout Texas District 4to compete in the 2011 Congressional Art Competition. The annual competition is comprised of sixteen counties and over ninety high schools, with the winner of the competition having their artwork displayed for a year in the United States Capitol in Washington, DC.

Congressman Hall is pleased to announce that the 2011 winner for the 4th District of Texas is Ryan Villarma, a sixteen-year-old sophomore at Greenville High School. Ryan's winning piece, "Hidden World", is a "self portrait woven together with a depiction of the bottom of the ocean" done in pencil and colored pencil.

Villarma, whose parents are also both artists, said he has enjoyed drawing and making things for as long as he can remember. He cites artists Salvador Dali, M.C. Escher and Rene Magritte as being particularly inspiration to his work. "I also look at miscellaneous artists on the internet. Seeing how those artists use certain techniques for expression helps me know how to show my own expression."

Darla Abrego, the art teacher at Greenville High School, said, "Ryan is a natural talent, and his self-portrait depicts him perfectly. On the outside Ryan is very quiet and pensive. He appears very introspective and somewhat serious. But, once you get to know Ryan you learn that he is full of personality! He is intelligent and very witty. His creativity and skill always astound me and I look forward to seeing what Ryan will create in the future."

The annual Congressional Art Competition, first launched in 1982, gives students a rare and unique opportunity to share their talent with the thousands of visitors who come to our nation's capital. The winning student receives two round-trip airline tickets to Washington, DC and an invitation to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the U.S. Capitol for winners from across the nation.

For more information or to receive competition guidelines for next year's competition, contact Natalie Raulston in Congressman Hall's Rockwall office at 972-771-9118.

All the action buttons are now on the screen for easy access. Laser Products reports that the large screen helps simplify editing, and with a wireless Internet card, users can E-mail the pictures and templates back to the shop from the field. The company has added some standard fillets and offsets, but users can add more depending on what is popular in their area. Every time the tablet is turned on, if an Internet connection is available, it will search for Laser Products' latest update and install it.

SOFTAUDIT FROM ISOGON INTEGRATES WITH ASSETPRO FROM ASSET SOFTWARE INTERNATIONAL

Product Integration Agreement Brings Windows-Based 'Total Cost Of

Ownership' Reporting To Isogon Corporation's SoftAudit MVS Product

NEW YORK, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Isogon Corporation and Asset Software International (ASI) today announced an agreement under which the information gathered by Isogon's SoftAudit for MVS product will be integrated with ASI's AssetPRO product to produce Windows-based analysis reports which reveal the "total cost of ownership" for MVS software. Information gathered by SoftAudit and highlighted by AssetPRO helps customers better manage MVS software deployment and usage.

"Isogon's goal is to provide our customers with powerful solutions to complex software control problems," said Isogon marketing director Rob Savette. "We've found that these problems can extend beyond the scope of any single tool; and it is in those cases that Isogon is committed to partnering with quality solution providers like ASI. Quality products and smart alliances are critical components to the Isogon solution strategy."

The demand for IT asset management solutions is estimated to be growing at 30% yearly compounded rate according to studies done by several research groups. In April of 1994, Gartner Group advised that "Isogon's SoftAudit deserves consideration by organizations looking to reduce their MVS software bills."

Greater MVS Software Analysis, PC Report Look and Feel

The purpose of using SoftAudit has always been to allow MVS organizations to eliminate unused software and their "associated costs." This streamlining was achieved by developing a comprehensive inventory of MVS software products installed on IBM mainframes, then tracking and reporting product usage by version, user, or CPU. Now, under the new agreement with ASI, software usage information collected by SoftAudit will also feed the central repository in AssetPRO. The AssetPRO repository has links to additional PC client reporting modules such as Asset Management, Asset Procurement and Problem Management. In short, now MVS organizations can get an even better handle on the 'associated costs' of MVS software ownership.

"Tracking all cost-events is the only way to determine the 'Total Cost of Ownership,'" said Gordon Rielly, CEO of Asset Software International. "In order to track all cost-events, corporations need solutions like SoftAudit and AssetPRO to manage the heterogeneous IT structure of today's corporations. The alliance between AssetPRO and SoftAudit is important as customers are now able to manage both the MVS and PC software structure when implementing an asset management strategy."

SoftAudit is available from Isogon Corporation (800-568-8828). AssetPRO information is available on the Internet at HTTP://www.AssetPRO.ca or via e-mail from AssetPRO@igs.net.

Isogon Corporation is an enterprise systems asset management company based in New York, NY. Asset Software International (ASI), based in Ottawa, Ontario, is a developer of integrated software systems for corporate enterprise asset management.

COMMITTEE: 2 OU ADMINISTRATORS DESERVE APOLOGIES.(News)

Byline: Associated Press

ATHENS, Ohio -- Two former Ohio University administrators fired after a series of computer break-ins deserve apologies and new jobs, a university grievance committee has recommended.

The committee found ample evidence both Todd Acheson, the director of Computer and Network Services, and Internet and systems manager Tom Reid worked to prevent electronic break-ins on the schools' computers, then were incorrectly blamed for lapsed security.

The committee's report faulted Bill Sams, associate provost for information technology, and other unnamed officials for not reorganizing the school's computer systems and leaving security responsibilities unclear.

Sams announced in June that he will step down once the university names his replacement.

In April, the university discovered breaches in four different computer systems, exposing about 367,000 files containing Social Security numbers, names, medical records and home addresses.

The university later revised those numbers, stating that about 173,000 people's files were affected.

The decision on whether to rehire Reid and Acheson lies with Provost Kathy Krendl.University officials declined to comment because Krendl had not received the report yet.

Reid and Acheson were fired after bearing the brunt of the blame in a consulting firm's investigation of the security shortcomings.

TowerStream and Vonage(R) Form Alliance to Offer VoIP Over Fixed Wireless Broadband.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- TowerStream, the leading fixed wireless Internet provider, today announced an alliance with Vonage Marketing, a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp., North America's leading broadband telephony company, to offer its service to TowerStream's customers.

"TowerStream and Vonage both represent alternatives to the legacy telephone networks, offering better features at a substantially lower cost," said Jeff Thompson, COO of TowerStream. "Combining these services will enable increased flexibility, reliable performance and cost savings to enhance the productivity of any size business, and can be up and running in a matter of days, not weeks or months. TowerStream's pre-WiMAX service offers a flexible alternative to the integrated T1s most businesses use today. With the quality of service provided on TowerStream's network, businesses are able to configure their Internet traffic to ensure VoIP calls are always given priority. In addition, both TowerStream and Vonage offer a high level of reliability backed by their Service Level Agreements (SLA).

"We have been using Vonage over TowerStream's fixed wireless broadband for the past year, and have been delighted with both the superior call quality and reliability of the connection," said J.P. Maxwell, President of Tipit Communications in Brooklyn. "We initially turned to TowerStream to help alleviate a latency problem, and are now receiving up to five megabits per second, which easily supports our voice and data for less than the cost of a landline T1. VoIP and fixed wireless have proven to be invaluable to our company and this collaboration will go a long way in showing that together they can quickly improve communications and cut costs for any business."

"Vonage welcomes TowerStream as this alliance gives customers yet another avenue to purchase the company's flat-rate, full featured broadband telephony service," stated Mark Lyons, vice president, VAR Sales of Vonage Marketing.
